So today is my last day off until I leave for Katsucon next week. I’m probably going to miss an update, either next wednesday or the following monday due to the con. I’ll try my damndest not to miss both. Or I may not miss either, we’ll see.
Also my job hired a second part timer, so I’m getting my hours reduced slightly. This means I’ll have more free time to work on art but also somewhat less income. I’ll see how it goes after a few weeks, but if I need to make up some extra cash I may start taking commissions again.
So, uh. I heard back from Animazement today. I got waitlisted.
I guess I’m not good enough for them now :/ I’m pretty upset about it and I’m not even sure if I’m gonna go at all now.
Katsucon! However! It’s in two weeks! And I will be there with an art table (er, half of one) and I’ll be doing sketches and selling books and things.
Sorry this is way later than usual. I overslept and then had a few interruptions.
On the plus side: whirlwinds are fun to draw.
Apparently my host is having all kinds of issues lately. My site was down most of yesterday, and apparently they got DDOSed this morning.
Hopefully things are fixed now. If stuff breaks again I can still be contacted via deviantart, tumblr, twitter (I’m Kytri all three sites) and email (secretcollect at gmail).
A couple of people guessed right in that the Beastman cop is a giraffe. She’s like 7 feet tall, and I like drawing her.
I’m kind of enjoying drawing these two cops. We’ll get a better look at them on the next page. Unfortunately they don’t stick around too terribly long.
I’ll probably reuse them whenever I need police types in the future.
Oh and Amun talks about his, uh… aerolocation? It was inspired by a charm in Exalted called Air Dragon’s Sight that does more or less the same thing.
Geeze I got a lot less work done today than I’d hoped.
I signed up for NaNoWriMo too, no idea how I’m gonna pull that off and go to work and get all my comics done.
Oh and to head off the inevitable questions about the dialogue in the first two panels: Nai’ka are magical, Gabry is anti-magical, 2+2=touching is bad. It’ll be illustrated in more detail eventually but you guys probably won’t see it for a while.
This is way early but I probably wasn’t going to have time to color it tomorrow between work and then having to drive to my parents’ place so I can go to the hospital tuesday morning.
It kinda helped that there are so few characters on this page and most of them aren’t wearing clothes.
Anyway this is Rei. He’s a Nai’ka. He’s not exactly typical of his species but he’s probably the one we’ll see the most of.
I gotta go to work in five minutes.
