7-49: A murderer
Well, the tablet is still broken. I haven’t heard from my brother, so I’m getting less hopeful that it can be fixed. I’m trying to adjust back to using my old tablet and just one monitor but it’s not going great.
I think I’m going to do a small kickstarter for a little collection of sketches and use the money to buy a new tablet. But kickstarters take at least 30 days so I have to figure out what to do in the meantime. I’ll be honest, this whole situation has killed a lot of my motivation to do anything, which is really bad since this is my only real source of income right now. I promise I’m trying my best though. It’s just really hard.
I might take a week or two off TWIYEH and SP to work on the sketchbook? I don’t know yet but if I do I’ll let you know ahead of time.
If you’re a Patreon backer I’m going to try to have the early access pages up on there before I go to bed tonight. It could be like 5 am given how slow I’m working right now but I’m going to try to do it before I go to sleep. Also Patreon stickers will be mailed out tomorrow (monday) I hope. If not they’ll go out on tuesday.
Edit: There were some interesting comments on the last few pages. I love getting those but I’m always a bit torn on if I should reply or not. Like I can clarify things but I also think it’s cool when y’all speculate about stuff and don’t want to step on that. SO I guess on a related note if you want to ask about something and definitely get an answer I have a curiouscat account now. I haven’t really used it yet. It’s sort of like what formspring was if y’all remember that.
Geez, Ian can’t catch a break.
Also she’s not one to talk. Hypocrite.
And now we have a new sword to figure out. It looks brown, which really isn’t silver, but could be rust-coloured… My first guess is wood, for vampire slaying, although wood hasn’t been especially noted as vampire murdery and it seems that cutting through their heart would be massively disabling regardless. Could she not get a new silver sword? It is somewhat surprising that she isn’t carrying multiple swords, unless they are hidden? One would expect the weight to be fairly negligible to her unless they are very dense? Or maybe she has hidden swords? I… I don’t actually recall any hints to her power, so that could be hidden-sword related…
Meh, Imma put my money on “wooden sword for swift vampire bursting” and not on “rust-flavoured” nor “sacred root of fairy slaying” so she would have to be quite thorough if she wants to avoid Terrifying Replacement Limb Syndrome.
She is quick to claim murder, can she smell the difference between dead vampire blood and alive vampire blood?
For all that she is rude and violent, she has been an interesting character and I’m cheering for her survival.
My current theory is that Ian was invited here because, pesky child that he is, he insisted upon developing a conscience, so mum has decided to feed him a proper irredeemable murderer to get him on the right path. A few months as a vigilante will probably be enough to get him onto an “I need more power” ark and running off to sacrifice his humanity for the greater good.
And cheers for not answering questions. We all know that the true enemy is spoilers!
My guess is that it’s wood, given the carvings on the handle. Also, there is a crazed double of him running around…
