actually, california had the same issue as NC a while back- and it was entirely because of the mormon church deeming itself important enough to pump stupid amounts of money into a state they had pretty much nothing to do with to get their way.
i'd like to find out how much of this was the mormons making themselves asses there too.
Sadly the Mormon Church doesn\’t even need to intervene in a state like NC, we have plenty of home grown bigots.
