Back when the group was just beginning to suspect that Ian was a changeling, Rei describes fairies as “shapeshifting monsters” (3-34). What can they shape shift into?
Just about anything, this is how Ian is able to appear human. The actual extent varies depending on the individual.
So… being able to shapeshift is not equal to able to shapeshift easily? Since Ian is mentioned to have difficulty changing back to human form after faerie?
Yes. They may have difficulty doing it or there may be subtle indications in their appearance that gives them away.
