Is Nami speaking like that because Terai wouldn’t understand “can’t”?
maybe in their language the ir version of “cant” is important, so the word can’t is somewhat overlooked.
It feels like an artifact of a different sentence structure to me. But I could be wrong, I don’t know what the Nai’ka verb-subject order is or if they have weird particles or w/e.
…I’m no linguist so I probably said a thing wrong in that previous sentence. :I
