Jeremy still IS a rabbithuman, the surgery was only to remove most of the features.

It feels like he's getting downgraded to mook so we get shocked by his evil self once we see it fully. Or his father. That threat is really starting to worry me [I just noticed here Devin said Murderpants. For some reason that's making me unspeakably happy].

I'm stupid, why exactly is he about to be arrested? For the conversation between him and Jordy that nobody witnessed and that Jordy hadn't reported (as he said, he would if Miguel wouldn't leave). Until now, Cyntha doesn't have a reason, let alone a proof, to say anything against him, especially not the last few minutes.
Right now, the police have a drugged Jeremy and a Cynthia who says, Jeremy is not guilty. She has no reason to say anything against Miguel, and so doesn't the police. Nobody saw his attack but Jordi but he hasn't called for help or anything.
So they simply arrest him because Miguel said to them "I don't know what happened, oh, there's more of this stuff in the fridge!" and Cynthia "Nononono, he's my friend he wouldn't do that!" and they choose to believe her and conclude "so it's Miguel"?
This either doesn't make sense at all, not a bit as a plot point as the characters (even if they don't suspect him, Cynthia suddenly seems to) suddenly act on reader's knowledge, or I missed something?!
You seem to have missed that they’re not actually arresting him yet, Cynthia just said she thinks they’re going to. And the police don’t say that he’s under arrest, they say they want to talk to him some more.
Cynthia also has reasonable suspicion that Miguel is the one who drugged Jeremy, since if Jeremy didn’t do it himself someone who had a key to his dorm probably did. She knows Jeremy doesn’t get along with his roommate and when they found him Miguel is the one who pointed out the blood and called the police. She knows the cops want to talk to him some more all of a sudden. Anyway she has reason enough to think Miguel is creepy and up to something.
They'll probably go over that in the next page or so.
I'm not overly familiar with police proceedure, but Cynthia is well aquainted with Jeremy and says this isn't normal, which would be enough to at least look at some other leads. As for Miguel specificly, he's close enough to the suspect to be questioned a bit more. Also, he basicly confessed to Jordi, but I don't think the police can use that.
Damnit Cynthia, stop getting my hopes up! there's no way he won't get away and murder more people and be a smug little evil hipster so soon!

I’unno about you guys, but the suddenly worried expression on Miguel’s face makes me cackle with glee. Damn right, boy, you don’t get off that easy!
